COME AS YOU ARE: Whether you’ve never been to church, or have grown up in it, this church is for you.
The service is at 11am. We look forward to seeing you there.
Wear what you want: There is no dress code at church – come smart or casual and you’ll fit right in.
Everyone welcome: Expect a welcoming atmosphere with friendly people from all backgrounds and ages.
Contemporary music: Typically our services start with live contemporary worship led by one of our bands.
Giving is for our church family: During the service we provide an opportunity for our church family (members) to give financially towards the work of the church. As a guest, please do not feel obliged to participate in the offering unless you want to.
Great children and youth programmes: At our Sunday morning services, before the preaching begins, the children and youth leave for their activities. We provide a crèche and great children and youth programmes for ages up to 18.
“The message spoke directly to me”: We place a high priority on spending time in teaching the Bible and unpacking God’s Word in a way that is relevant to life today.
No-obligation communion: During our services on the first Sunday of every month we usually take communion together to celebrate Jesus’ death and resurrection. If you a Christian, you are welcome to join us in this meal. If you would not consider yourself a Christian, feel free to let this pass you by – no offence taken.
Signing for the deaf: BSL interpretation is available once a month.
“I’ve made new friends already”: Our services tend to last around one and a half to two hours – and after the morning service there is a coffee lounge, as well as lunch for you to meet new people or catch up with old friends.
Stay for lunch: Every Sunday (exc. July and August) we serve lunch straight after the morning service. We’d love for you to join us. There is a small contribution of £4 for adults and £1 for children towards the cost of the food.
If you do come along for the first time then we would love to get to know you and it is our priority that you would feel properly welcomed and made to feel at home. Our welcome team will always be ready with smiling faces and useful information as you come in the entrance, please do ask them anything.
If you’re worried about coming to church on your own, or just want to quickly make friends, we run a series of newcomers breakfasts where you can meet some of our core team. More information and dates for this term will be on our events page.
We absolutely love having visitors every week, but if there is a chance you might stick around, have questions about the church or are keen to get involved straight away then we would ask you to fill out a get connected form that should be handed to you on arrival or you can do it online here. This just gives us a chance to follow up with you during the week because we admit that Sundays can be very busy and our memories are not what they once were!*
Please also join us for refreshments and anything else that’s going on after both services.
Thank you again for visiting this page and we can’t wait to meet you in person.
*By filling in this form we will add you to our MailChimp mailing list. You can unsubscribe from our weekly emails at any point. We find receiving these regular mailings is the best way to find out more about what’s going on in the life of the church.
We’re so excited that you might come and join us on a Sunday, let us make the process slightly easier!
There are various ways you can get to us whatever the state of the traffic or the weather! Scroll to the bottom of the page for a map.
By car – alongside the church building there is free parking on Castle Lane all day Sunday and usually enough free spaces. Also if you’re new to London, the dreaded congestion charge does not apply at the weekend. Our post code is SW1E 6BS.
By tube – there are two tube stations very close to us, Victoria or St James’. If coming from Victoria then cross over from the station and head along Victoria Street towards the river. Then turn left onto Buckingham Gate and we’re 3 minutes further down that road, on the left. Even is easier if you come from St James’, this simply involves turning left out of the station and walking all the way down Petty France until you walk straight in our front doors.
By bus – there are so many buses that come into Victoria Station or pass along Victoria Street that whatever the route you’re taking it should be a hassle-free journey. If unsure which one to take them type yours and our postcode (SW1E 6BS) into Transport for London’s handy website.
By bike – there is a large Boris Bike station just over the road from the church on Buckingham Gate, or if you are coming on your own then we have safe bike racks just inside the courtyard to the left of the church entrance.
Hopefully this is a helpful list of options, but if you’re still uncertain with specific details then do get in touch with us and we’ll be more than happy to help – [email protected]
We believe that the best days in Westminster Chapel’s history are yet to come, so if you are looking for a tour of the building, the best thing to do would be to visit on Sundays from 10.30am when our congregation are present and the church is filled with worshippers.
During the week, our small staff team are very busy running the ministries of the church and we cannot guarantee a tour to people who show up at the gate.
During the summer months especially we are inundated with Christians visiting from all over the world. If this is you, feel free to email us first at [email protected] to see if the building will be open when you intend to visit.
We’d love to meet you, but our main mission is to love and serve our community, so we cannot always be available for guided tours or history lessons (as much as we would love to!).
Thanks for your understanding!
