Recently, I had the opportunity to help a man in the grip of a growing addiction to pornography. He hadn’t seen it that way, for to him it was simply a mild and pleasurable diversion that did nobody any harm, and certainly not him. But new factors had awakened his concern and he came to me for help. This was further evidence to me of the encroaching entrapment of what I call ‘The Porn Conspiracy’, which has reached epidemic proportions in much of the western world. It has effectively neutralized the impact of countless Christian men and women, leading to the demise of many Christian marriages and even pastoral ministries.

Yet I felt out of my depth on this matter, ignorant of the facts, unsure of the effects, and unsure of how to address this issue. But I was keen to help and highly motivated to find out more, in order to set him free through the resources of the gospel.  I read all that I could on this problem, absorbing the wisdom of highly informative and immensely practical books written from a biblical perspective, whilst biding my time until I felt I could really assure my friend that victory was possible. So successful was the outcome in his case as changes for the better in his life and personality became increasingly evident, I felt highly motivated to try to help others who may also struggling with this temptation.

I’m convinced our men at Chapel could benefit from the preventative and curative medicine of God’s word designed to counter the epidemic of pornography that has hooked so many Brits on exploitative imagery and solo sex. We’ve therefore arranged a Men’s Day at Westminster Chapel on Saturday 16th June, and called it ‘THE PORN CONSPIRACY’. It’s timed for 9:00 am – 2:00pm – a fixture for one of the biggest fights we need to win.

Alluding to the titles of the three blockbuster action films based upon Robert Ludlum’s espionage thrillers featuring ex-Black Ops agent Jason Bourne, we are going to tackle this problem with the same aggression and righteous indignation that Bourne meted out to his mortal enemies. The three talks by Greg Haslam include:

  1. ‘THE PORN IDENTITY’ – Unmasking the truth behind the lies and propaganda that has beguiled countless men into chronic defeat.
  2. ‘THE PORN SUPREMACY’ – Stirring serious men to adopt an all-out fighting spirit in beating this problem permanently in their lives.
  3. ‘THE PORN ULTIMATUM’ – Outlining workable biblical strategies to help demolish pornography’s strongholds, whilst drawing on the power of the gospel to keep them free.

So, gentlemen, if you’re ready to man up and get holy, perhaps it’s time to make war.
