We are looking for interns for 2019-20 to serve our church in a voluntary capacity. This is a unique opportunity to be a part of our core team, working to serve God and serve others in the heart of London.
Interns are involved in every area of church life on some level, being at the core of our staff team. Interns may also be particularly involved in some of (but not limited to) the following ministries:
– Creative Design
– Kids and Youth
– Justice/Mercy Ministry
– Administration and Church Management
Chapel’s internship scheme aims to:
Promote personal GROWTH:
– develop and build character strength
– build on each intern’s interests, skills and gifts
– help them identify their strengths and weaknesses
– help them grow in theological clarity, disciple-making abilities, leadership skills and relationship building
Help them know what’s next (VOCATION):
– gain perspective on a career path after internship
– gain hands-on experience of church work and ministry, plus practical skills
What does the Internship look like in practice?
During the year, you’ll be given the opportunity to study and be trained for a lifetime of usefulness in God’s kingdom. Training will be provided through Commission’s Impact scheme, which this year is being run through the excellent Foundations course.
We seek to invest in interns, through providing an environment in which they can thrive and grow in their gifts. We ask that interns invest mentally, spiritually and physically in the goings on at Chapel and our staff team for a year.
Previous interns have found the year challenging, yet faith-building and formative for whatever God calls them onto next.
The internship is voluntary and we encourage you to self-fund the majority of your time, but we are able to help with accommodation and travel costs, as well as a lunch allowance.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Typically the internship works well for school-leavers or graduates, or those with a few years workplace experience – someone with a degree of independence/autonomy, and a willingness to work hard.
We are looking to fill two vitally important gaps on our Premises Team. For more information, click on the job descriptions below.
We will also make printed forms available on the Welcome Desk on a Sunday morning if you are unable to fill in the form online.
We look forward to hearing from you!
