Perhaps you are visiting this page because you have experienced an act of kindness.
We hope it put a smile on your face, showing you a small bit of God’s love in a practical way.
Westminster Chapel is taking on the challenge of 40 Days of Kindness over the Lent period.
From March 4th until Easter; the period traditionally known as Lent, we will be encouraging our members and attendees not to give up something, but to take up a new mission – the mission of kindness. We are asking them to think of how they can bless those around them. To seek ways to help those in need. To do a ‘good deed’ for someone expecting nothing in return.
On 16th February, we’ll be giving out a booklet with ideas, and some specially-designed business cards (thanks Irina & Konstantina), with the aim that a kind act will provoke questions in someone’s heart and they’ll be able to follow a link to find out more about Chapel and more importantly about Jesus.
We believe God could use these simple acts to change the lives of many: and help to draw people into a relationship with Jesus. The video below tells a powerful story of a life changed by one simple act of kindness.
This isn’t just an initiative or ‘program’ for the Lent period. This is about a culture shift; a lifestyle change that we hope will have positive repercussions for many years to come.
The four reasons are analysed more thoroughly in the booklets, but they are in summary form:
1. Jesus’ kindness and our desire to be more like him
2. To change negative perceptions of Christians
3. The kindness of God leads to repentance (Romans 2:4)
4. To form a habit that will last forever
This very church grew from a handful of people to over 1,000 through acts of kindness, as you can read about on our website.
There is nothing to lose and a massive amount to gain.
If you experienced a kind act and would like to get in touch with us, say thank you to the person who helped you, or you’d like to find out more about us, then fill in the form below. Please also get in touch if you’d like prayer for anything.
