Freedom
This Sunday we start a new, nine-week conversation about freedom, based on a first century letter (Galatians) a transformed murderer called Paul wrote to a group of churches in what is now Southern Turkey (then known as Galatia).
We’ve called the series Freedom, based on 5:1, “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.”
In these nine weeks we’ll be seeking to drink deep and soak in the amazing grace and joyful peace Jesus the God-man, anti-religion freedom revolutionary, promises to all who follow Him.
Just as fish are only free in water, the element for which they were made, people are only truly free in following Jesus, the purpose for which they were made. And it’s so much more liberating, life-giving and joyful than you probably ever thought possible.
If you think Christian freedom is an oxymoron, you’re especially welcome.
If you want to break the chains of religion, guilt, people-pleasing, and so much more, you’re also especially welcome.
