The Getaway 2018

We’re going away again!!

Between 6-8th April, our Students, Twenties and Thirties will be getting out of London for a few days of fun, relaxation, Bible teaching and worship. We’d love you to come with us.

This year we have the amazing privilege of hearing from Mick Taylor on the Saturday. Mick leads all of the training programmes for Commission and has been one of the most well-respected Bible teachers in New Frontiers for decades. He is going to be leading two fantastic sessions in the morning and evening + a more relaxed lunchtime discussion.

There will be a lot of time for worship, prayer and rest. We’d also love for people to have their own times of group Bible study & prayer. But that’s completely up to you.

If you’re a student (or worker) and have a bit of revision or work to do then you’ll absolutely be able to find a quiet space with wifi to get stuff done. We would really encourage you to join us in the main sessions and to take regular relaxation breaks, but we do realise that you might have exams approaching and want you to feel well prepared.

What are the vital details?

Accommodation:
We will be staying at Legge House (SN4 9JS) for two nights.

How much does it cost?
We want everyone to come and really don’t want price to prevent that. So we’re making three options available.
Generous ticket – £50 (for 2 nights accommodation, plus a donation to help someone else out)
Standard ticket – £35 (for 2 nights accommodation)
Discounted ticket – £20 (for 2 nights accommodation)

When should I arrive?
You can arrive any time after 5pm on Friday 6th and will need to leave before 3pm on Sunday 8th.

The basic schedule for the weekend is:
FRIDAY – arrive any time after 5pm
SATURDAY – 10am first session, 7pm dinner, 8pm second session.
SUNDAY – 10am third session, 3pm check out.

What will I eat?
We tend to leave this up to you. There are a few good takeaways nearby, along with two pubs and some supermarkets. We will aim to all eat together on the Saturday evening, but other than that it’s pretty much a free for all.

How do I get there?
This is completely your choice! You could get the train from London Paddington to Swindon (around £25 return) and then work out a lift to Legge House. Or you could jump in a friend’s car along the M4, or you could hitchhike, or you could plan a long cycle ride, or you could build your own jet pack. It’s your call.

What do I bring?
– Sleeping Bag / duvet + pillow
– Stuff to wash yourself with
– Shoes for walking/running (if you like to do either of those things)
Anything else that makes sense for this kind of event.

Goings on

The Westminster Foodbank is based at our church and is run mostly by volunteers from our congregation. It's open Mondays from 2-4pm & Thursdays 11am-1pm.

On 11th Feb​ruary​ we’re starting a new series, following in the footsteps of Outflow, Fruitfulness on the Frontlines and the iWitness Course, to continue to encourage and equip us to be everyday witnesses to Jesus.
