DISCIPLESHIP EXPLORED

How can you find the secret of contentment? Is it possible to be free of anxiety? Are you sure you're a Christian? Is there anything worth living for or dying for? Discover the answers in Discipleship Explored, an eight week journey into the book of Philippians, a letter written by Paul whilst under house arrest in Rome.

Q. Who is DE intended for?
A. DE is for anyone who wants to make the most of their Christian lives. The course is primarily written for new Christians but it is also relevant for people who are not yet Christians (who will discover more of the reality of what it means to be a follower of Jesus), people who are unsure if they are Christians and people who have been Christians for a while (as a refresher course for people who want to rediscover what it means to be a follower of Jesus).

Q. How long is DE?
A. The course lasts eight weeks, with each weekly session lasting about two hours.

Q. Where and when does DE take place?
A. At Westminster Chapel, 7.30pm-9pm, 7pm for a free meal and refreshments.

Q. Can I pull out if I want to?
A. Of course you can.

Q. What happens during a typical session?
A. Each session has a group discussion, a short study in Philippians, a short talk, and a further group discussion.

Q. What topics are covered?
A. The topics covered each week are as follows:

25th January: Confident In Christ (Philippians 1:1-11) - How can I be sure I'm a Christian?
1st February: Living In Christ (Philippians 1:12-26) - What am I living for?
8th February: Standing Together In Christ (Philippians 1:27 - 2:11) - Together for Christ?
Break for the church prayer meeting. DE participants are most welcome to attend.
Please see the coming up page for details.

22nd February: Transformed By Christ (Philippians 2:12-30) - How should I live for Christ?
29th February: Righteous In Christ (Philippians 3:1-9) - Can I be good enough for God?
7th March: Knowing Christ (Philippians 3:10 - 4:1) - How can I know Christ better?
Break for the church prayer meeting. DE participants are most welcome to attend.
Please see the coming up page for details.

21st March: Rejoicing In Christ (Philippians 4:2-9) - How can I rejoice in Christ?
28th March: Content In Christ (Philippians 4:10-23) - How can I be content in Christ?

Q. What's special about DE?
A. Philippians is a letter written to young Christians, encouraging them to stand firm and live for Christ. It is compelling, challenging and inspiring - particularly to those beginning the Christian life, because they are on exactly the same journey as the Philippians! Also built into the course is an optional Bible reading plan to help every participant explore each theme further - and also develop the habit of reading the Bible daily.
